Moms Who Meditate (Weekly Drop In)

Would you like to ease the challenges, frustrations and exhaustion of being a mom? Learn practices to help you navigate the bumps and grooves in the road of parenting with MOMS WHO MEDITATE. This is a drop-in meditation class designed JUST for you!

The intention of the MOMS WHO MEDITATE class is to assist you in:

  • Learning how to ease up on judging ourselves and others and how to be kinder to ourselves, our children, and our spouses/partners/caregivers.
  • Learning how to be less reactive (angry, anxious, afraid) and more responsive (wise, kind, skillful).
  • Learning how to use meditation to become aware of what's out of balance in our inner world and stop blaming the outside world for our problems.
  • Discovering a beautiful array of meditation techniques to help enhance mind+body health and wellness.
  • Finding a sanctuary in your week; a safe and comforting space in which you feel appreciated, supported, nurtured, understood and accepted.
  • Have the freedom and flexibility to drop in to learn these practices without over committing yourself to a registered program that doesn't always suit moms' changing schedules!

This is a 30 minute class that integrates mindful breathing, mindful meditation, a weekly momtra (mantras that speak to moms), and a VILLAGE of fellow moms looking to either start a mindfulness practice, or connect with other moms on an existing mindfulness practice. There will be an optional moms community cafe in a coffee shop on site that serves local kombucha, tea, and coffee/espresso. Each weekly community cafe will have a topic highlighted based on participants' asks from the areas of mindful parenting, mindful partnering, mindful eating, mindful mom self care, and more.

Each class is unique. We meditate, we talk, we laugh, we share, and I will always show up for what's in the room... where moms are at on a given day.

I'M WITH YOU MAMAS

As a mom of 2 toddlers as well as Psychologist and Yoga Teacher, I can tell you that mindfulness practices --- from the mat to the plate with mindful movement, meditation, and mindful eating --- have helped me be a more responsive mom and helper. It's my sincere hope you'll find our time together becomes a sanctuary in your week; a safe place where you feel appreciated, supported, nurtured, understood and accepted.

The Road Church - Sunday Servic

The Road Church is an accepting community called to experience and to be God's presence everywhere. We believe that church happens wherever we are - at home, work, school, and play. We want to live into God's dream of a world where everyone and everything is made new. We want to love, serve, and give our lives to help make that happen.

The Road Church is a community built from two communities (formerly New Hope Church and Hillside Church) who decided that they would be better together.  When it was decided in 2014 that the churches should explore a merger, no one knew exactly what the end result would look like.  But here we are, 3 years later, a brand new community, diverse and gifted with a curious spirit that keeps us praying for open eyes, ears and hearts.

Our name The Road Church comes from the story of the Emmaus Road in Luke.  It demonstrates there are many times in our own journeys that we are met by Jesus without even realizing He is with us – he’s always with us on the road even when we don’t know it!  He is the one who reveals the truth to us, connecting our daily lives to the Big Story of Scripture.  As a community who is united in our diversity, we hold on to Ephesians 4:4 (MSG) when it says ‘were all called to travel on the same road and in the same direction, so stay together both outwardly and inwardly’.

Session #2 with Tara Newbigging January 21, 2018

Entrepreneur, the mastermind behind the BooTy® program, Soul Coach, Fitness Coach, Yoga Teacher, and adventure seeker residing in the Canadian Rockies. I hold a Bachelor of Physical Health and Education with a Major in Health Promotion. Beyond the labels, I am a passionate individual who loves to inspire people and help them discover their talents and gifts.

'My Mission is to encourage and empower others to achieve higher levels of personal wellness and fulfillment.' I share my passion and teachings in a variety of ways. Through fitness classes, The BooTy® program, Retreats, and one-on-one soul coaching; I am committed to helping individuals achieve their ultimate goals. I enjoy helping enable others to make courageous changes, let go of fear, understand both head and heart, embrace and explore self, and most importantly provide support to truly LIVE and LOVE their life. The mind and body are in direct connection and therefore it is only fitting that I help others explore both to the fullest. At the end of the day, if I can put a smile on someone's face, and share some spark to their day, I have SERVED.

With Tara, you are going to be doing her BooTy® class so be ready to sweat and smile and rock out!

BooTy® was created in 2012 when I needed it most. It came from a place of regeneration, vulnerability, and inspiration. BooTy® is central to the person that I am today. I am very grateful that I can share it with others and have such a profound impact on women's lives. My goal is to share this program with women around the world and certify other leaders in hopes that many women can feel and experience the powerful effects that I have. BooTy® challenged me when I needed to be challenged, it centered me when I was off balance, it taught me to love more than I ever knew I could. Most importantly though, it helped me discover the deepest parts of myself, which I am ever so grateful for. If there is one thing that everyone has to say about BooTy® is that you have to experience it to understand it. Woman walk away feeling strong and empowered to live their most authentic lives. It provides a supportive environment for women to connect with self. BooTy® is for women of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. You do not need to be coordinated, you just need to be you. Each class you will leave feeling clear, strong and empowered. Trust me... you have to try it out for yourself.

The Road Church - Sunday Service

The Road Church - Sunday Service
